Sight fishing is the whole premise: a poled skiff, a fish spotted before the cast, and either a fly rod or light tackle depending on what the angler prefers. Captain Sam Glass runs a 2024 East Cape EVO V, a carbon and Kevlar center console flats skiff, across the shallows of coastal Alabama and eastern Mississippi. Redfish, black drum, tripletail, jack crevalle, sheepshead and tarpon are the listed targets, and the water types vary as much as the species, from clear sand bottom to fish holding in eel grass to broken white water under diving birds. Glass is Coast Guard certified and insured, and he holds a guide's fishing license, which means clients do not need to buy one of their own.
