Ugly Fishing sells a defined menu rather than one flexible day on the water. Six trip formats are published, each priced for the whole boat instead of per angler: a four hour short inshore run, a four to six hour inshore trip, a six hour nearshore Gulf trip picked up at Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan or Dauphin Island, a nine hour inshore full day, a trip built solely around large speckled trout for up to two anglers, and a February through April trip aimed at sheepshead and bull redfish.

Captain Patric Garmeson leads the operation from Daphne and has guided professionally since 2010, with more than 30 years fishing the Mobile Bay area. Two further captains, Will and Kyle, run trips under the same name, which is how the service handles multi boat and corporate groups. Coverage runs from Mobile Bay and the Mississippi Sound out to nearshore Gulf water, with pickups arranged for anglers staying at Fort Morgan, Gulf Shores, Dauphin Island, Orange Beach, Fairhope, Point Clear, Daphne, Spanish Fort, Mobile, Theodore, Bayou La Batre and Grand Bay.

Target species across the year include redfish, speckled trout, flounder, sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, jack crevalle and red snapper, and the site keeps a species calendar showing what is available month by month. The nearshore trip is described as unpredictable in what it produces and exposed to rough seas, so an inshore trip is normally held in reserve as a weather backup.

Dates are taken through an online booking page, and prices quoted are for the trip rather than per head, with a set charge to add a fourth angler on most formats. Gift certificates are sold separately, and group, multi boat and corporate rates are quoted by phone rather than listed.
