How this directory works

Who gets listed here?

Working fishing guides and outfitters in the US. Listings are free. We add guides ourselves and take suggestions from anglers and from the guides directly.

Does a guide pay to be here?

No. Nobody pays for placement and nobody can buy a better position. Driftline runs marketing for some guides, and those listings say so with a badge, but the directory itself is free and flat.

How do I book a trip?

Straight with the guide. Every profile links their website or phone number. We are not a booking platform and take no cut, so the price you get is the guide's own.

What's the difference between an independent guide and an outfitter?

An independent is one person guiding their own trips. An outfitter is a licensed operation running multiple guides and boats. Some states, Montana included, require guides to work under a licensed outfitter, and each state page links the agency where you can check a license.

Something on a listing is wrong?

Every guide page has a claim link at the bottom. Tell us what to fix and we fix it, usually within a week.
