Adventure Fishing Tours

Trips run from a few hours to a week here. Day charters leave Auke Bay, roughly a 15 minute drive from downtown Juneau, in 4 and 6 hour lengths, and can be run as fishing, whale watching or a mix of both. Multi day private charters go three to six days for groups of two to four, combining fishing, whale watching, kayaking and hiking with nights aboard; itineraries of five days or more can include the fishing village of Elfin Cove, and shorter ones call at Hoonah. The boat is M/Y Sir Reel, a 50 foot Mikelson sportfishing yacht with an enclosed climate controlled flybridge, three private cabins including a master with ensuite head, a galley with full size appliances, and a semi covered aft deck used for fishing and wildlife viewing. A 13 foot center console Zodiac rides along for shallow inlets and shore landings. Dave and Jojo have run trips since 2012, with Dave handling the fishing around Juneau and Elfin Cove and Jojo leading the kayaking and hiking. Gear, tackle, Alaskan beverages and wild harvest food are included; the Alaska fishing license, transport to the harbor and gratuity are not. The operators also list hunting trips, photography charters, kayak transport, marine research support and weddings at sea.
